DXNET BBS

General Information:

27-Mar-07: This BBS is embedded in the DX-NET software from F5MZN.  It is a DX cluster (DxNet) that provides a DX spotting service to radio amateurs who are interested in working DX (long distance contacts).  The software is available for DOS, Windows, and Linux.

Outpost Notes:

IMPLEMENTATION

SID = [MZN-4.2]
Outpost looks for the "[MZN" phrase of the SID as the means for identifying this BBS.  Prompts will automatically be identified by Outpost at connect time.

CONFIRMATION
Operational.

CONSIDERATIONS
1.  Outpost will automatically determine the BBS prompt for a DXNET BBS.

2. The DX Cluster portion of DXNET offers the user a wide range of settings that the user can configure to run automatically on an initial connection.  While this is fine for the interactive user, this will not work well with Outpost.  Each execution of an pre-defined DX command generates an additional BBS prompt.  Outpost will throw a new command every time it sees a new prompt.

To use Outpost with the DXNET BBS, you must (i) turn off all personal start-up commands, and (ii) request the Systems Administrator turn off any global start-up commands (remove all commands in the "users\default.cfg" file).  If you need help, please work with your DXNET BBS Systems Administrator.
