Outpost Packet Message Manager, v2.2c211, UPDATE, 4-July-2007
	        Copyright (c) 2003 - 2007 Jim Oberhofer KN6PE

1. Overview
2. Who should upgrade to v2.2c211
3. Update Notes
4. Changes in v2.2c211

----------------------------------
1. OVERVIEW
----------------------------------
The v2.2c211 release is an UPDATE to the main Outpost program files that were
delivered as part of the Outpost v2.2 general release. This update assumes
that the version 2.2c194 release or newer updates previously has been installed.

This release does not result in any data file changes. No data migration
to v2.2c211 is required. IF you choose to update to v2.2c211, you only
need only copy the 2 files from the zip file to the current Outpost directory.

----------------------------------
2. WHO SHOULD INSTALL v2.2c211
----------------------------------
This update addresses several problems that were identified since the original
v2.2c194 release. You should update Outpost if you are affected by the
following:

   * users that connect to a PK-232, DSP-232, or PK-88 PBBS that is
     local to your PC.
   * Users experiencing Error 13 Type Mismatch errors during a Send/
Receive Session with a KPC3 PBBS.
   * Users with AGWPE + TheNet Nodes + KPC9612 where Outpost stops processing
     messages.
   * Users who access WL2K nodes by telnet
   * F6FBB users
   * Telnet users

See Section 4 below for details.

----------------------------------
3. INSTALLATION NOTES
----------------------------------
Version v2.2c211 is FULLY compatible with the v2.2c194 release.
To use this update, Outpost v2.2c194 MUST previously have been installed.
Installing this UPDATE on top of any pre-v2.2 release will cause problems.
All users wishing to use this UPDATE must have previously downloaded and
installed v2.2c194.

The v2.2c211 distribution is not a full installation package. Instead,
it only contains the executables to replace specific v2.2 files that were
previously installed with the v2.2 release.

To install this UPDATE, proceed as follows:

1. Confirm that Outpost v2.2c194 or greater was previously installed.

2. Go to where Outpost was installed, probably in the directory...
c:\program files\Outpost.

3. Open the op220u211.zip file. You will find the following files:
	Outpost.exe
	README220u211.txt

4. Copy the contents to the Outpost directory.

5. Run Outpost. Press Help > About Outpost. Confirm the version says
it is v2.2.0 c211.

----------------------------------
OUTPOST WORKAROUND FOR WL2K by TELNET (#605)
----------------------------------
The following workaround is required to use Outpost with WL2K by Telnet.
When setting up the interface, do the following:

6. Setup > TNC Settings. Select Tab 4. Fill in the Remote Host and
    Remote Port as usual.
7. For the Logon field, enter your logon name preceeded with a "." (dot).
for instance, if your call sign is KN6PE, enter ".kn6pe" .
8. Enter the WL2K password as usual. Press OK.

A correction is planned for the next Outpost release to handle this
    more elegantly (Enhancement Request #606).

9. Run Outpost as usual.

----------------------------------
APPLYING THE AGWPE-NODE-BBS FIX (#574)
----------------------------------
10. After installing this version, do one of the following:

    1. Delete the file TncInfo.dat, and re-enter your AGWPE configuration

    2. Update the TncInfo.dat file.
       - Run Outpost.
       - Setup > TNC Settings.
       - Make a field change so that the Apply button becomes enabled
(easiest is enter something in the description field).
       - Press OK.

11. Run Outpost as usual.

-----------------------------
4. CHANGES IN v2.2c211
-----------------------------
#595: Defect, minor, Resolves program closing error with a message form
still open.

#609: Changes the method for how Outpost deals with telnet and situations
where the BBS takes a long time to respond. Timer is changed to a state
check.

#610: Defect, Minor, Addresses a new F6FBB Message List situation where
the Message Status is multi-character with spaces in between. Problem
showed up as an error 13 Type Mismatch, followed by an Error 40006.

-----------------------------
CHANGES IN v2.2c208
-----------------------------
#605: Defect, Major, Resolves telnet access to WL2K and the problem with
Transparent Mode. This is an interim release that is fully functional.
Additional changes will be implemented to clean up the field handling in
the next Outpost release.

#600: This change addresses the AGWPE problem where the incoming data
buffer length is not calculated correctly. The result is no display of
retrieved data, and Outpost hangs. This problem occurred with this
combination: AGWPE + TheNet-Node + KPC9612 PBBS.

CHANGES IN v2.2c205
-----------------------------
#590: Defect, Major, addresses the situation where the date format of a
KPC3 or KPC9612 PBBS was modified with the DAYSTR command to present a date
format other than mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss. This change gracefully handles the
date format error and reports it vs aborting.

#593: Defect, Major, fixes the connecting to the PK-232, DSP-232, or PK-88
PBBS with the MDCHECK connect command when the PBBS is local to your PC.

CHANGES IN v2.2c198
-----------------------------
#574: Defect, Major, resolves the issue where Outpost does not connect to the
BBS when using AGWPE and BPQ Nodes.

#584: Defect, Minor, resolves the issue where the BBS SP Command was not
initialized when entering a NEW BBS immediately after a clean install.

#585: Defect, Minor, resolves a file open error problem when turning on
Tools > Log Settings > Interface Data Trace.

#586: Defect, Minor, IPW create messages default to the last date listed.

#588: Defect, Minor, resolves issue where Outpost was incorrectly truncating
BBS message files that were exactly 10K in size.
